How were women represented within the criminal justice system of Brown County between 1910-1939?
Using a database created by history and humanities students at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, this section works to analyze women's involvement in moral crimes in Brown County, Wisconsin between 1910-1939. However, this does not necessarily mean only looking at cases in which women were the defendant. In fact, the defendants of many of the cases that involved women and "immoral crimes", like prostitution, abortion, and bastardy, were men. This section will seek to explain why this is and the many different ways women were involved in these crimes.
