Women in an Era of Social Reform
Did women enjoy equal standing under the law?
Home: Welcome

About Our Project
The late Progressive Era and beyond brought about great changes in the United States. This project focuses on changes for women between 1910-1939. The passing of the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution guaranteed women the right to vote meaning they shared equal electoral power with men. But were women afforded the same equality in the criminal justice system? Also, how did women's social standing change during this time period?
